FUNGUS AND IT'S ORIGIN
Q. What is fungus and where does it come from?
A. Fungus is a living organism and is permanent and vital element in our environment. There are 100,000 different species of fungi, some of these are molds. Fungus can be found in the air, soil, dirt, dust, plants, vegetation, bark of trees etc.
Q. If fungus is such a vital part of our environment, what is it's purpose?
A. Fungus has a well defined purpose; to break down non living matter. Without this activity in operation, it is difficult to imagine what the earth would look like or how we would be able to function in it, if at all.
Q. Are you then saying that fungus is a positive element?
A. Yes.
Q. Then it's O.K. for fungus to grow under finger and toe nails, because its fulfilling a purpose?
A. Certainly not. As nail technicians, fungus growing under and on finger and toe nails is one of our greatest concerns and is an indication of one of two things; 1) failure on our part to maintain sanitized tools and implements, fungus is a living organism and can be transmitted from one client to another from an unsanitized tool. or 2) an indication that the client has an imbalance in her system. Not only does fungus play a role in our environment, but it plays a vital role in our immune system.
Q. Where did you get this information from?
A. FAU reference library and Miami/Jackson Memorial medical library, but most importantly three very generous retired scientist who give their time, and expertise to students at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fl. They are respectfully a toxicologist, a pharmacologist a microbiologist. They spent many hours teaching me the fundamentals of fungus, bacteria and virus and it is because of their generosity that I can share the same information with you.
