The following question was asked frequently by several of our Varisi customers and here is the answer of the manufacturer "ALVA JADE" on how to deal with it.
Question:
I've been using your Varisi for several months now.
My big toe nail was completely rotten, but now a nail has grown out all the way to the end of the toe.
But at this point, only half of the nail is attached to the nail bed.
The front part looks yellowish white, and is loose.
Underneath the front part, there's some creamy white stuff after the shower.
Am I supposed to clean that out or just leave it alone?
Answer:
It is important that during the use of Varisi, that twice-daily application is kept up. When the Varisi is applied, it provides a clean environment for the nail bed for 12 hours. Because the nail is damaged and most times lifted up off the bed, this cavity is a perfect place for everyday day bacteria to get back into the area to start eating away at what's trying to attach back to the bed. This is why it is so important to use Varisi twice daily.
If the nail is halfway attached and there is debris under the nail, you should be using the hydrogen peroxide and a soft brush to clean it. Do not use sharp or pointed instruments to clean under the nail; they may cause separation of the nail to the bed. It takes such a long time for the nail to reproduce itself and attach back to the bed; you must want to stay away from that.
Also putting anything under the nail is not a good idea in general. There are bacteria and germs on nearly everything we touch and by pushing an un-sterilized instrument there is only pushing bacteria back under the nail.
Certain medication can cause these nail infections to be prolonged. If you are on antibiotics or other medications, your system is altered throwing off levels of different things, which makes it harder to fight against these infections.
Fungus in the body is a very complex subject, but these are just the basics to help the process work the best it can.
